kitty-kitty!

we've got two new cats!say hello to them!

we tentatively named them dory(the calico) and martin(the white one) but we'll probably be too unoriginal and not be able to come up with a better name.besides, they might probably get used to their names and get all confused we change them so it looks like they'll be martin and dory(yes like the fishes in nemo).but in case you have suggestions for a name, please do let me know.just none of those fancy-sounding names like kendra or utterly jologs like benito ok?
when i came home yesterday morning, there they were, chasing each other around in the kitchen.we were only supposed to get martin(yes, we still have partiality for blue-eyed white cats) but they were about to throw away dory so my tita decided to adopt her too.we usually prefer not to take female pets because we don't want to have to worry about them getting pregnant.can you imagine your parents wishing the same thing while waiting for the ultrasound results?although it's too early to tell if dory will turn out to be a girl but most if not all calicos turn out to be babes.
they were jumpy and skittish when i first tried to scoop them but now they're practically sleeping on me - my chest, my back, my shoulders.and aside from cat hair, i also have scratches on my arms, legs and probably my back which we all know is a real turn-on for guys.haha.
they usually sleep in my bed, behind the ref or in the bottom rung of a plastic rack which we've cleaned out for them.my tita says they like warm surfaces because it reminds them of their mom.they're so adorable and incredibly playful - toying around with everything from my tita's slippers to the electric wires.they're sociable, friendly(who would imagine using these adjectives to describe a cat?) and caring too - licking each other to clean themselves!
they're so unlike our first cat, lex, who was so suplado and so ma-pride.he doesn't come to you when you call him, you go to him and he doesn't beg for food - he just sort of saunters near you to indicate his interest.he makes a lot of noise when he doesn't get what he wants and he refuses to be petted and tickled.
of course, lex is miffed now because the kittens are getting most of the attention.he hisses whenever he sees martin and dory and leaves whenever they come near him.now, he spends most of the time upstairs or outside and he completely ignores my tita and me.he wouldn't even come running anymore when we open a bag of chips and he's a big junk food fan who usually perks up at the first sound of plastic crackling.
anyway, my tita says we should just give him time to get used to the new cats because like most unwanted surprises, liked or not, are here to stay.so excuse me,i'm going to play with my cats.oh, the grand name the cats contest is still going on, please don't forget to join in!
