happy new year!
around 5 years ago, people were saying that we won't be around to welcome the year and the world will come to a devastatingly dramatic end.doomsayers were predicting an apocalypse(complete with the four horsemen) and church people were preaching repentance.thankfully, they were wrong and we're still around half a decade later.so happy new year everyone and may we all put to best use this reprieve we've been given.

in my writing class with doreen fernandez, i had a classmate who was part of the soccer varsity team and one of the best, if not the best, writers in class, debunking stereotypes that jocks and brains don't mix.anyway, in one of freestyle writing exercises, he noted people's fondness for making lists so he wrote about a list of lists and talked about five of the ultimate whatever things which included playing in the rain and saying goodbye to people.they were incredibly cheesy,mushy things but he managed to pull them off and write a really beautiful essay.even doreen says so.
anyway,lists seem to appear magically like fireworks during the new year like metz's flashback and gloi's awards and resolutions.so like the super lolos and the plaplas that made their rounds last night, here are my lists of whatever-that-pops-up-in-my-mind.
5 most wanted things
1.) palm zire 72 or hp ipaq 6315
2.) an ipod
3.) a digicam
4.) pc accessories - a dust cleaner,earphones and an optical mouse
5.) complete dvd collection of friends, charmed and alias
5 potential life-altering lessons
1.) finding mp3's over the web
2.) ripping dvd's
3.) investing in things that last and pay off like jewelry, insurance and friendship
4.) dancing in front of a crowd and in the face of troubles
5.) a couple of 5-bucks a day is a roundtrip home
5 new labels i'd want to try on
1.) jitse passer
2.) m.a. student
3.) practical buyer and smart money manager
4.) i-got-a-big-raise happy employee
5.) great girlfriend
5 people i am most thankful for/to during the year
1.) my family
2.) friends from my old office
3.) friends from my new office
4.) friends from college
5.) those that give a little extra something to what would otherwise be a boring day
5 amazing things i did during the year
1.) slowly being the kind of person i want to be
2.) getting into hp
3.) shedding some of my baggage and defeating some of my demons
4.) saying no
5.) growing up, being happier and not giving up
