the sea-warlock, the hobbit and the prince charming

remember the sea-witch in the little mermaid who traded ariel's voice for feet? i feel like i'm ariel and this officemate is ursula with testosterone. and instead of a pair of legs, he's trading pasalubong from japan for a friendster testimonial. i read my email in the morning and he threatens us with no pasalubong unless we write a friendster testimonial for him. at first i thought he was joking but after asking me upfront through chat if i could write a testimonial for him with only "hi" as a preamble, i knew he was serious. i replied non-commitantly that i'll try because i'd probably be too busy. and he replied with a sad face. a japanese package isn't enough to make me trade my voice for. unless, the package contains the sony clie pda.

he-who-must-be-avoided-at-all-cost is at it again so i'm doubling my efforts to keep him as far from me as possible. i cringe whenever he comes near me or when his hands touch me for even the briefest of seconds. i cringe at the mere sight of him. so when he saw me last saturday wearing my cutest denim mini-skirt, grabbed my wrist and immediately started bugging me about who my date was, i practically jumped and fled. and today when i saw him at work, the first thing he asked in a very loud voice i might add despite the fact that a lot of people were within hearing distance was, who my date was. i just smiled, ignored him and went to my corner. inwardly, i was fuming and irritated. how dare this hobbit annoy me?doesn't he know who i am?i am the queen of the hobbits.if there is such a thing.

one and a half hour. we've been talking (read chatting) for one and a half hour. it's not so much in the world record of the longest chatting but it's something to build on. maybe jeline is right, he doesn't have to be literary. it doesn't matter if he doesn't gush after reading szymborska's poem or get all excited when finding gluck's meadowlands. it doesn't matter that i prefer blogging over ragnarok or that i couldn't understand his fascination for naruto. what matters is that we can still gush and get excited over the things we do and still be able to talk about anything or nothing at all and just just fool around. when we grow old, we won't be reciting sonnets or who finished levelling up first. we'd probably be talking about how we'd be peeing in our seats because we're too old to get up. and then we'd laugh. and that's what's important. that we can just laugh together. now, if only i can get my prince to quit smoking.
