if you're not too busy...
or even if you are, like me, you might want to check out some of these cool sites i discovered these past few weeks.
1.) quizardry.com: for those excel quizzes junkies.
they got a wide collection of excel quizzes ranging from movies and television shows to toys and games to icons and even logos!plus, they've got clue sheets, discussion boards and rankings too.and the quiz is not easy to crack unlike previous excel quizzes that i managed to "crack".it's not all that complicated to "crack" an excel quiz, all you need is a lot of time and a need to impress people by being the first to answer all the quizzes completely.just open the excel quiz in word, sift through the endless stream of garbled, incomprehensible text. and when you do find a word that does make sense, it probably is an answer, you just have to figure to which item.
2.) factmonster! : for trivia gobblers.
the site is designed mainly as a study aid for kids but some of the quizzes are challenging and difficult to answer even for an, ahem, adult like me.but seriously, you might be surprised at some itty-bitty details you missed out when you were a kid.they even got a brief introduction to emoticons and emailese (what are they you say?better check out the site) .my,my, we never had these when i was a kid.
3.) chicken! : for chicken lovers and mulawin fans
remember a few years ago when the expression "chicken!" was so uso(and this is so taglish) and it was used to mean something easy (chicken lang yan)?well, this site has nothing to do with the expression.imagine a life-size chicken with wings that resemble those of mulawin at your beck and call.power trip na, laugh trip pa.for those of you who love chicken, you might think twice before sinking in your teeth on a fried chicken the next time.and for those who watch mulawin (like me, but only because i think dennis trillo is so cute!), notice anything familiar about the wings?
4.) f.r.i.e.n.d.s. tayo... : transcripts galore
yes, i know most of you have dvds, cds and other pirated formats of friends but...can you watch it while you're at work and you're bored?no, but you can read through each episode! if you're die-hard friends fan and you simply have to relive the entire ten seasons or if you've missed an episode or a season or if you can't get a dvd, vcd or other pirated formats, you can read through the transcript from the show instead.just like the show, you can skip some scenes or fast-forward to your favorite friend moment.
5.) where do we eat? : over a hundred choices!
ever have those days where you can't seem to decide where to eat - for lack of choice or for excess of it?an old officemate from nec once proposed a solution to this problem - a program that would randomly pick a restaurant for us.yes, i can hear some people muttering, "geek".but don't we all need help with indecisiveness?well, this site offers a listing of most of the restaurants and eating establishments in manila and other popular cities.you can also use it as a random selector, just pick a number, click on the link and randomly point on th screen.then, go to whatever restaurant your finger lands on!it's pretty helpful as it provides phone numbers(useful for deliveries!), classification for restaurants(western, italian, pinoy) and a website as well.some of the information is not updated though lest you be lead falsely.
the other day, i was so excited because i thought i'd see my crush.my spy informed me that they would be having dinner in phohoa in jupiter and so i did a little research and was happily surprised to learn that it is located in the same building where we would be having our despedida for fred (who will be going to singapore, good luck!).but to my dismay, the waiter informed us that the phohoa branch closed down a long time ago and my crush had their dinner at the greenbelt branch.

i almost forgot how much fun it was to hang out with my team from nec. last wednesday, when we had our despedida for one of my teammates(because i can never seem to get used to the idea that we're not a team anymore because i still hang out with them), i remembered how much i really miss them.awww.
according to fred, they're thinking of setting up a mailing list for people who resigned from nec.would you believe that at least one person is resigning every month?we used to joke around who'll be resigning the next month "so, who will mr./ms. september be?"i'm miss april and ria, who resigned a day later, is miss may.we were both moving to hp.i suggested that they name the list nec-nec mo.hehe.
although, i am beginning to fall in love with my new team.it's just difficult to bond with them because, one, we're off different ages so our interests and priorities tend to differ.then of course, we take shifts so the people we get to spend time with are our teammates and only see the other teams once every two weeks.plus, when i got to the team, most of them
have already establishe their own cliques and barkadas.but i think they like me or at least they like making fun of me and making bunso jokes.
"bunso,kumain ka na ba?"
"bunso, pagkatapos kumain, mag-siesta ka na"
"mamya bunso, wag ka na maglaro, gawin mo muna assignment mo bago ka manood ng tv"
"o, ikaw na bahala kay bunso"
"niloloko na naman ako ni bunso"
i admit, i enjoy the attention and the fuss.plus, they are kinder and gentler with me, treating me indulgently even when i make blunders.they simply laugh it off and shake their heads, "eto talagang si bunso".
the other day when i mistakenly talked to one of our european counterparts, they all crowded around my area when they found out.at first, they were trying to scare me that the girl might tell out manager and so i was half-worried, half-wondering if they were making fun of me.afterwards, they were all sympathetic and helpful -
telling me it was ok and that someone did worse and talked to some high-ranking ceo/director to helping me set up my messaging properly so i can contact the right person.
but i have yet to be comfortable with them, enough to be able to speak up and talk a lot.would you believe i am quiet 90% of the time and the only time i do talk is when i have a question to ask or an issue to clarify?and i have yet to settle in, go out on gimiks and night-outs with them.i can't even bring myself to attend a colleague's wedding the other day.in time.maybe i can even dance bulaklak in front of them without prodding.
