of looms and loves
there's nothing quite like anticipation at the start of what can be something promising. a young entrepreneur setting up the first store of what would be a successful chain. waking up on the first day of your dream vacation. the bubbles fizzling when you open that can of coke on a hot, hot day with your favorite chips and chocolates nearby. and a smile that hints of a possibility of everything that we ever really dreamed of.
and you can't help but smile back, even long after the smile has vanished and he has walked away because you feel that this could be the start of something good. so you begin weaving your dreams, spinning your hopes and prayers upon the loom, waiting to see if that exquisite design we've created in our minds prove to be equally beautiful at hand.
but previous miscues hold us back and we remind ourselves to exercise more caution, more restraint lest we hold on too tight or we've threaded our fabric loosely. maybe, it'll be better if we just stop and try a classic pattern, a proven technique, then maybe, we wouldn't make so much mistake. or perhaps we should just abandon it altogether and start something new.
but you feel that this is something worth pursuing. true, the design might fall short of our expectations, might prove to be a waste of our efforts and our faith. but it can also surprise us and make us smile, perhaps forever.and for that possibility, i'd be willing to take the risk.
